Mission StatementThe organization will be operated exclusively for educationaland non profit purposes, and shall be limited to thosepurposes permitted by Section 501(c) (3) of the InternalRevenue Code.Preserve and present the heritage and history of railroadingin the United States, particularly the Pacific CoastRailway, San Luis Obispo’s own narrow gauge railroad.This shall be accomplished through the collection andpublic display of model railroad layouts, educationalmaterials and educational presentations, and relateddocuments, artifacts, and equipment.Enlist public support in model railroading activities throughcooperative layout construction, group operatingsessions, educational instruction and the establishmentand maintenance of a permanent space for group modelrailroading activities which is open to the public.Promote and support the model railroading hobby on theCentral Coast of California through the maintenance ofan official website, publication of a newsletter, and theproduction of an annual train show.Provide a point of contact for potential members,organizations, the public and interested parties toconnect with the local model railroading community.Board of Directors MeetingThese meetings occur on the first Wednesday of the monthat 5:30pm at Station Grill at 170 W. In 2006, we were restructured as a non-profitorganization. Since it’s restructing, we have attempted to meetthe goals of our mission statement in new and interesting ways. We have had model train shows in five new locations as well asbrought mini shows to senior assisted living centers. We havealso assisted local boy scout groups earn their merit badge inrailroading. Since 2007, we have had a Christmas themed showin Arroyo Grande as well.
